LEX-1000 Adhesive for Mounting ADA Signs

All indoor ADA signs (acrylic, brushed aluminum, wood laminates) from ADA Sign Depot come with foam mounting tape on the back. But for heavier signs, such as our ADA Brushed Aluminum Signs and Restroom Door Signs, or, whenever you want an extra-secure bond, we strongly recommend using Lexel Adhesive Caulk. It is without doubt the BEST product we have found for mounting our ADA signs! Lexel is a co-polymer rubber-based sealant. It has excellent adhesion to a wide variety of materials, even after seven days of water immersion. Synthetic rubbers like Lexel are more durable, are extremely elastic and have UV inhibitors. Although it's tougher and resists tearing, Lexel is a soft rubber. This allows it to stretch and compress with joint movement. You can paint Lexel within 24-48 hours with latex paints, stains and primers and after 7 days with oil based paints, stains, and primers. Lexel should not be used in areas of continuous submersion (i.e., aquariums or swimming pools). Do not use Lexel in areas where temperatures exceed 200 Degrees F. Lexel may damage some plastics, such as polystyrene foam insulation. Lexel is not very easy to remove;it is meant to stay. The bead can be softened with mineral spirits or lacquer thinner, then scraped off with a razor blade or putty knife.
